- INSTALLATION GUIDE -
DM Premium Optic's Magnifiers are designed to be compatible with all popular holographic and red dot sights. Variant styles within available sighting systems may be subject to differences within mounting height and alignment. The following steps are provided to aid in successfully mounting your new magnifier in-line with your existing sight. Some applications may require additional time to setup due to the “floating holographic reticle." For optimal results follow these instructions carefully.
IMPORTANT:
CALIBRATE THE EXISTING HOLOGRAPHIC OR RED DOT OPTIC SIGHTING SYSTEM TO THE WEAPON BEFORE INSTALLING THE MAGNIFIER.
APPLY GUN OIL ON THE FLIP MOUNT HINGE AREAS, AS YOU WOULD ANY MOVING PART ON THE WEAPON.
APPLY A THREAD LOCKING ADHESIVE TO ALL SCREWS. ALLOW TO CURE BEFORE FIRING THE WEAPON.
FOR FLIP TO SIDE MOUNT:
1. Loosely mount the base unit with adjustable flip top to your rail system. Loosely place the magnifier into the mounting ring and adjust the base unit and magnifier to achieve proper eye relief distance. Mount the holographic or red dot sight in front of the magnifier with enough distance as to not block the movement of the magnifier when flipped to side. NOTE: The flip can be set for left or right handed operation.
2. Now that the holographic or red dot sight is in place with the adjustable flip to side, adjusting the centerline can begin:
With the magnifier slightly loose in place, use the side elevation Allen head screw to adjust the vertical centerline elevation of the magnifier lens, to the vertical centerline of the holographic or red dot sight. This can be done by looking at the two objects from the side and adjusting the centerline to as close as possible. Tighten the side Allen screw to lock position.
3. Using the two Allen head screws under the flip mount base (when the mount is flipped to side) adjust the windage setting in the same manner as the elevation setting and secure the screws.
4. Once the magnifier looks in line, turn the holographic or red dot sight on and begin fine tuning the centerline. Start by twisting the magnifier in the ring, notice the centerline change position. Once centering with the holographic or red dot sight picture is achieved, fine tune the windage adjustment screws.
5. Secure all adjustment, mounting and ring screws.
USING RUBBER SPACER PADS
You may find in some applications that the reticle is difficult to center and may be at the very edge of the magnifier picture. Using the supplied rubber pad installed inside the mount ring will give the magnifier a very slight angle when clamped into place. This angle will move the center line and help in adjusting the reticle to center.
The illustrations below demonstrate how to use the foam pad to align the magnifier with the reticle.
The illustrations show examples of a reticle that is too low, and a reticle that is too high in the magnifier picture. Use the foam pad to correct the angle of the magnifier and shift the reticle into the proper direction. The foam pad can also used for right to left reticle calibration by placing it on the right or left hand side of the inside of the mounting ring.
FOR SOLID MOUNT:
1. Find the height center point by using the 30mm mount for lower sights, or by using the supplied 1/2’’ riser block for taller sights.
2. The 30mm mount has a 4 degree offset so it can be turned front to back (180 degrees) achieving different heights to help align the center point to the sight.
3. After center height has been achieved, adjust the windage point using the adjustable mount base side screws. Slowly adjust each screw in or out to achieve horizontal center of the sight.
4. When the magnifier looks in line, turn the holographic or red dot sight on and begin fine tuning the centerline. Start by twisting the magnifier in the ring, notice the centerline change position. Once centering with the holographic or red dot sight picture is achieved, fine tune the windage adjustment screws.
5. Secure all adjustment, mounting and ring screws.
